The Author on Poetry

“Poetry is not forced on the poets, nor on the readers. It just happens. But if one thinks algorithmically, each poem perhaps follows a sequence: trigger or inspiration, ideation, incubation and expression. Every poem that I write takes my mind through a process of distillation, a sort of cleansing process that purifies me a bit, sanctifies me a bit and finally humbles me a bit. Inspiration could be from own experience, an individual, nature, an event or an incident, a news item, a social or human issue, a song, an observation or even a simple word. “ – An extract from his interview to Global Indian Magazine, Dubai
